BHF hand over cash award to women’s hockey players

DHAKA, May 28, 2019 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) on Tuesday handed over cash incentive of Taka five thousand to each woman hockey players who are currently undergoing training camp ahead of the U-21 Women’s Asia Cup scheduled to begin from September 9-14 in Singapore.

The BHF general secretary AKM Mominul Haque Sayeed handed over the cash as good wishes for Eid-ul-Fitr to the hockey players, who will go to vacation from tomorrow (Wednesday).

The BHF also committed to ensure the social and financial security of the women’s hockey players in future.

The BHF has been trying to form the first ever women’s hockey team with 61 hockey players selected from different zones across the country. The players are now undergoing training camp organized by Directorate of Sports.

The BHF vice president Abdur Rashid Sikder for the convenience of good practice of the players handed over hockey stick to the all under training players.

After the Eid al-Fitr, the BHF has a plan to take the team in India to arrange two practice matches.
