Thief gang held in Uttara
DHAKA, MAY 27, 2019 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested five
members of a thief gang from Uttara in the city.
The burglars have been identified as ringleader Tonni Akhter (Tania) and
her cohorts – Afsana, Asif, Rayhan and Uber driver Kalam.
DB ADC of Gulshan Zone Golam Saklain told BSS that the DB police conducted
a secret operation in Uttara and arrested them with a private car around 11pm
on Sunday.
He said Tania along with her gang in guise of different identities has
been deceiving people and looting goods for long. She is accused in 11 cases.
“All of them are in police custody…They will be sent to court after
interrogation,” he added.
