DRU-ANNIVERSARY-CELEBRATION
DRU to celebrate 24th founding anniversary tomorrow
DHAKA, May 25, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU), a professional organization for journalists, is set to celebrate its 24th founding anniversary tomorrow in a joyous environment in the capital.
To mark the day, the authority concern of DRU have chalked out various programmes including hoisting national flag as well as organization’s own flag atop on DRU premises at 11 am, inaugurating programmes through releasing balloons and pigeons, conducting rally at 11.30 am, holding discussion and memorial meeting at 4 pm and cutting cake at 6 pm.
DRU President Elias Hossain and General Secretary Kabir Ahmed Khan urged all its members to attend the celebration programmes.
An Iftar party-Doa Mahfil will also be held at 6.43 pm on the DRU premises in city’s Shegun Bagicha area.
The DRU was established on May 26 in 1995 in order to establishing the rights of the reporters, working in various media of the capital, Dhaka and also to promote professional progress with dignity.
At present, the number of DRU members is around 1800.
