Snatcher held with firearms in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, May 25, 2019 (BSS)- Members of Chattogram Metropolitan Police
(CMP) in a drive arrested an alleged snatcher from city’s Suvopur Bus stand
area last night.
The arrestee was identified as Abdul Halim alias Balliya, 35, son of
Mohammad Liakat Ali, hailed from city’s Matherbari area.
Nobel Chakma, Assistant Commissioner, Kotwali zone said the snatcher had
been mugging pedestrians and bus passengers for long in city’s Suvopur Bus
stand of Sadarghat thana area.
Based on secret information, a team of Sadarghat thana police in a drive
arrested him with country made LG gun, two cartridges, 100 pieces Yaba
tablets from city’s Suvopur Bus stand area under Sadarghat thana at 11 pm
last night.
A total of 15 cases were pending against him with different police stations
in the city, he added. Sensing the presence of police his other accomplice
ran away from the spot.
Another case was filed with Sadarghat thana in this connection.
