Actions to be taken for extra bus fare realization: DMP
DHAKA, May 25, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia today said legal actions would be taken if any vehicle is found taking extra fare from passengers.
“No vehicle can realize additional fare beyond the BRTA chart,” he told a view-exchange meeting with Inter-District Bus Terminal at Mahakhali in the city.
Mahakhali Bus Terminal Road Transport Owners Association and Dhaka District Bus Minibus Road Transport Owners Association organized the view-exchange meeting with the association of Traffic North Division.
The DMP commissioner said: “Our intelligence along with other intelligence agencies is working to check realization of additional fare.”
Asaduzzaman urged the owners of transport not to employ any drug addicted man as bus driver and helper.
He said security measures have been beefed up ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr so that the holidaymakers can reach their village home safely and enjoy the most expected religious festival with near and dear ones.
DMP Additional Police Commissioners Krishna Pada Roy and Mafij Uddin Ahmed, Joint Police Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed, Bangladesh Road Transport Association Secretary General Khandker Enayet Ullah, Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation General Secretary Md Usman Ali, Mahakhali Bus Terminal Owners Association President Haji Kalam were present on the occasion, among others.
