Panchagarh Express ushers new hope in northern people

PANCHAGARH, May 25, 2019 (BSS) – Panchagarh Express, country’s longest intercity train service has ushered a new hope in the people of northern region to have an easy, fast and comfortable journey during their travel to capital city Dhaka.

It will take only about ten hours from Freedom Fighter Sirajul Islam Railway Station to Kamalapur in Dhaka, making the travel easy, comfortable and quick, local people hopes.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today flagged off the train service on 593 kilometer route through video conference from her Gonobhaban residence here today.

The train will depart from Panchagarh at 12.15 pm everyday and would reach at Kamalapur Rail Station in Dhaka at 10.35 pm. The train will leave Dhaka at 12.10 am for Panchagarh and would arrive at Freedom Fighter Sirajul Islam Rail Station at 10.45 am.

On the way the train will make stop over in three stations- Thakurgaon, Dinajpur and Parbatipur, officials said.

Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, Deputy Commissioner of Panchagarh Sabina Yasmin, Police Super Gias Uddin Ahmed and senior officials were present during the flag off time.
