Taiwan further lowers GDP growth forecast for 2019
TAIPEI, May 25, 2019 (BSS/Xinhua) – Taiwan’s statistical authority on
Friday lowered its forecast for the island’s 2019 economic growth to 2.19
percent.
The latest growth forecast was 0.08 percentage points lower than the
previous one made in February.
The statistical agency expects Taiwan’s per capita GDP in 2019 to reach
24,827 U.S. dollars, and the consumer price index to rise 0.71 percent year
on year.
Many think tanks in Taiwan hold prudent views on the economic outlook of
the island.
