Abahani register 4-1 win over Muktijodda in BPL
DHAKA, May 23, 2019 (BSS) – Abahani Limited, came from behind, to register a convincing 4-1 goal victory over Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra in the Bangladesh Premier League Football held on Thursday at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.
With this win, Abahani Limited improved their tally with 36 points but still four points less behind the league leader Bashundhara Kings from 15 matches while Muktijoddha Sangsad remained at their previous credit of 16 points playing same number of outings.
In the day’s match, Muktijoddha’s foreign recruit Famoussa put the freedom fighters ahead early in the 14th minute while Belfort of Abahani Limited restored the parity in the 27th minute of the match.
Zibon gave the traditional sky blue Dhanmondi outfit a deserving lead in the 30th minute while after the lemon break Mamun further widened the team’s margin scoring the third goal for Abahani in the 64th minute.
Nigerian striker Sunday completed the winners’ tally scoring the fourth goal in the 74th minute of the match.
