Transparent, accountable administration can take country forward: Gowher Rizvi

DHAKA, May 22, 2019 (BSS) – International Relation Affairs Adviser to the
Prime Minister Professor Dr Gowher Rizvi today said a transparent and
accountable administrative management can take the country forward.

“The government has taken a ‘zero tolerance policy’ against corruption …
alongside accountable administrative management, political commitment is a
must for taking the country forward, which the government of Sheikh Hasina
has,” he said while addressing a seminar at Officers’ Club in the city.

Ninth BCS Forum and JICA Bangladesh jointly organised the seminar titled
‘Good Governance and National Development’, said a press release.

Underscoring the need for people-government’s coordinated steps to prevent
corruption, Rizvi said though execution of laws is principal in this regard,
but the people also have responsibility.

Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam addressed the seminar as the
special guest with Ninth BCS Forum President Md Tofazzal Hossain Miah in the
chair.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and
Industries (MCCI) President Barrister Nihad Kabir and Chief Representative of
JICA Bangladesh Hitoshi Hirata joined the seminar as discussants.
