Govt sincere about 9th wage board award: Murad
DHAKA, May 22, 2019 (BSS)-State minister for information Dr Murad Hasan today said
the government is sincere about the implementation of the 9th wage board award for
journalists.
“Present government is media friendly . . . media enjoys complete freedom under this
government. As far as I know, the 9th wage board award will be declared soon,” he said
while exchanging views with journalists at his secretariat office here.
Information secretary Abdul MaleK and other high officials of the ministry were
present.
The state minister sought cooperation from media in discharging his responsibility
and said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given me the responsibility of the state
minister for the information ministry. I want to work following her guidelines. I seek
cooperate from you all”.
He said the responsibility of the information ministry is to highlight the
development activities of the government alongside building relations with the people.
“I want to do that job in consultation with the information minister,” he added.
“Media is completely free . . . it is our responsibility to work for you and I want
to discharge this responsibility properly, sincerely and honestly,” he said.
Murad said the information ministry does many important works of the government. “I
want to work together with the information minister to build relations between the
government and the people,” he added.
