Firefighters urged to perform duties with sincerity
RAJSHAHI, May 22, 2019 (BSS)- Director General (DG) of Fire Service and
Civil Defence (FSCD) Brigadier General Md Sazzad Hossain has urged the
firefighters to perform duties with utmost sincerity and honesty for overall
development of the nation.
He mentioned that performing duties with devotion is a moral obligation
towards substantial reduction of both life and assets losses caused by any
fire incident.
He was addressing a fire fighters meeting to mark his visit to the
Rajshahi Divisional Headquarters of Fire Service and Civil Defence here
yesterday afternoon.
FSCD Director (Operational and Maintenance) Major Shakil Newaj, Rajshahi
Divisional Deputy Director Nurul Islam, Assistant Director Abdur Rashid and
Senior Station Officer Shahidul Islam were present on the occasion.
The DG told the meeting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is very much
interested towards development of FSCD along with its modernization. Already,
she has allocated funds for building a modern training centre for the fire
service people by which a modern training centre is being constructed.
Upon successful implementation of project competence of the servicemen
will be enhanced to a greater extent through imparting time-fitting training.
Brigadier General Sazzad Hossain says main motto of the fire service is
speed, service and devotion and job nature of the FSCD is different to many
other jobs. This matter should be kept in mind always.
He, however, says firefighters gave supreme sacrifice at the time of
serving people and the nation will remember their contribution forever.
Before his visit, the DG was given a smartly salute by an all-rounder
firefighters team led by Warehouse Inspector Omor Faruque.
