Fahad, Subrato take joint lead in National Junior Chess
DHAKA, May 20, 2019 (BSS) – FM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Pirojpur and CM Subrota Biswas of Mymensingh took joint lead in the points table with 5.5 points after 6th round games in the Open section of 39th National Junior (Under-20) Chess Championships (Open & Girls) now being held at Chess Federation hall-room.
Swarnavo Chowdhury of Elegant International Chess Academy and Yasir Ali Khan Evan are sharing 2nd position with 5 points. CM Manon Reja Neer of Narayanganj, Sadnan Hasan Dihan and M Sajidul Haque of Elegant International Chess Academy are sharing 3rd position with 4.5 points each.
In the girls section, WCM Noshin Anjum is now solely leading at the points table with maximum 6 points after 6th round in girls section. Ahmed Walijah of Elegant International Chess Academy is following the leader with 5 points.
Kazi Zarin Tasnim, Warsia Khusbu and Tasniia Tarannum Orpa are sharing 3rd position with 4 points. In the day’s 6th round games of both sections were held today (Tuesday).
In Open section, FM Fahad drew with Swarnavo, CM Subrota beat Nafim Al Karim, Evan beat Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, CM Neer drew with Mahin Ahmed Shuvo, Dihan beat Tahmidul and Sajidul beat M Rajib Hasan.
In girls section, WCM Noshin beat Shanjida Shakib, Walijah beat Kazi Zarin Tasnim, Orpa beat Jannatul Ferdous, Khusbu beat Musfica Zaanat Sawri, Jannatul Ferdousi beat Mehjabin Akter Jubaida Israt Jahan Diba beat Wadifa Ahmed and Nusrat Jahan Alo beat Israt Jahan Nishi.
The 7th or penultimate round games will be held tomorrow (Tuesday) from 2 PM at same venue.
