Sheikh Hasina’s homecoming day observed in Tungipara

GOPALGANJ, May 17, 2019 (BSS) – The homecoming day of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina was observed in Tungipara here today.

To mark the day, Tungipara upazila AL paid their tributes by placing
wreaths at the shrine of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman around 11 am.

Later, different associate bodies of AL, including Jubo League, Chhatra
League and Mohila Awami League placed wreaths at the shrine.

Tungipara AL and it’s associate bodies also offered an special prayer for
Sheikh Hasina and for the eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu
and his family members who were brutally killed in 1975.

Acting President of Tungipara Upazila AL Elias Hossain, Upazila Chairman
Soliman Biswas, AL leader Babul Sheikh, Chhatra League leaders Nurul Islam
and Nazmul Haque were present.

Besides, district AL marked the day hoisting national and party flags at
their office at Bankpara in the town.

They also placed wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. District AL also arranged a discussion
meeting on the occasion at their office. President and Secretary of Gopalganj
district AL spoke at the meeting.

On this day (May 17) in 1981, Sheikh Hasina returned home after six years
of exile following the country’s saddest history of killing of Bangabandhu
along with most of his family inmates on August 15, 1975.
