BB to release new notes from May 22

DHAKA, May 16, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Bank (BB) has taken a decision to release new notes of Taka 10, 20, 50 and 100 in the market from May 22 to 30 (except the government holidays) ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The new notes will be distributed from all branches of Bangladesh Bank across the country, according to a BB circular issued here today.

Besides, the notes will also be distributed under special arrangement through different branches of the commercial banks in Dhaka region.

The notes will be distributed from Jatrabari Branch of the NCC Bank Limited, Abdul Ghoni Road Corporate Branch of the Janata Bank, Jatiya Press Club Branch of the Agrani Bank, Mirpur Branch of the NRB Global Bank Limited, Karwan Bazar Branch of the South East Bank Limited, Bashundhara City (Panthapath) Branch of the Social Islami Bank, Chawkbazar Branch of the Uttara Bank Limited, Ramna Corporate Branch of the Sonali Bank, Uttara Branch of the Dhaka Bank, Gulshan Branch of the IFIC Bank Limited, Mohakhali Branch of the National Bank Limited, Mohammadpur Branch of the First Security Islami Bank Limited, Rajarbagh Branch of the Janata Bank Limited, Sadargath Branch of the Pubali Bank Limited, Malibagh Branch of the Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited, Bashabo Branch of the One Bank Limited, Shyamoli Branch of the Brac Bank Limited, SME and Agriculture Brach under Dakshin Khan of the Dutch Bangla Bank Limited, Banani Branch of the Premier Bank Limited, Dhanmondi Branch of the Bank Asia, Begum Rokeya Sarani Branch of the City Bank, Nandipara Branch of the Al-Arafah Islami Bank Limited, Elephant Road Branch of the Prime Bank Limited, Narayanganj Branch of the Mercantile Bank Limited, Shimrail Branch of the Exim Bank Limited, Gazipur Chowrasta Branch of the Islami Bank Limited, Gazipur Chowrasta Branch of the UCBL, Savar Branch of the Uttara Bank, Savar Branch of the Mutual Trust Bank and Keraniganj Branch of the Trust Bank Limited.

The central bank said a person is allowed to collect notes once.
