Two killed in Maulvibazar, Ctg road accidents
MAULVIBAZAR, May 12, 2019 (BSS) – Two persons, including a woman, were killed and two
others injured in separate road accidents in Maulvibazar and Chattogram
districts today.
In Maulvibazar, Momtaj Begum, hailed from Sreemangal upazila, was killed in
a road accident in Niteshor area on Maulvibazar-Sreemangal road under Sadar
upazila of the district this noon.
Police said the accident occurred when a minibus collided head-on with a
CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the area, leaving auto-rickshaw passenger Momtaj dead on the spot.
The injured were admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Police seized the mini bus.
Meanwhile, a labour was killed when a speeding vehicle ran over him in
Chattogram Port this noon. The labour was identified as Ali Azgor, 40, hailed
from Bhola district.
Police said the accident took place when the vehicle ran over Azgor in
No. 1 yard area as he was working there.
Critically injured Azgor succumbed to his injuries at Chattogram Medical
College Hospital (CMCH).
A case was filed in this connection.
