NAOGAON, May 11, 2019 (BSS) – Ajifa Begum Kodevannesa, mother of Md. Mamun Islam, Senior Reporter of BSS at BSS Rangpur Bureau, died at her residence at village Mathurapur under Badalgachhi Upazila here last night.
Kodevannesa, 81, had been suffering from various old age complications for long, family sources said.
She left behind five sons, five daughters, grandchildren and a host of relatives to mourn her death.
Body of Kodevannesa will be buried at her family graveyard beside her husband late Moulavi Rais Uddin after Asr prayers today.
With assistance of her husband Rais Uddin, a compassionate woman Kodevannesa contributed a lot to the War of Liberation in 1971 by cooking foods and feeding freedom fighters at her own costs at village home daily.
Local leaders of Awami League, Press Club and journalists’ union condoled the death of Kodevannesa, sought eternal peace for her departed soul and expressed deep sympathy to members of the bereaved family.
