Tornado lashes four villages in Hobigonj
HABIGONJ, May 9, 2019 (BSS)- Over hundred dwelling houses were completely destroyed and hundred others damaged partially as a severe tornado lashed four villages of Ajmirigonj Upazila in the early hours today.
The tornado uprooted more than five hundred trees, injured at least 10 persons and destroyed the electricity supply system.
The affected villages are- Pituakhandi, Azadpur, Nadipur and Haripur of Badalpur Union.
Upazila vice chairman Mominur Rahman Sajib, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mohammad Ali and Badalpur Union chairman Susenjit visited the affected areas.
Deputy Commissioner of Hobigonj Mahmudul Kabir Murad said a list of the affected families is being prepared for giving relief.
