Nilphamari achieves self-sufficiency in animal protein
NILPHAMARI, May 7, 2019 (BSS) – Nilphamari district has achieved self-
sufficiency in animal protein as eggs and meat production has increased
sharply in the past couple of years.
Nilphamari district office of Livestock Department sources said eggs and
meat are produced enough in the district. Each people needs two eggs and 120
grams meats per week, they said.
There are 336 farms of cattle, 577 chicken farms, 170 duck farms and 250
goat farms in the district. Besides, adequate amount of animal proteins are
produced in the district.
