KUSHTIA, May 7, 2019 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced death penalty to a man for killing his wife in Mirpur upazila of the district in 2016.
The judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal Munshi Md
Moshiar Rahman gave the verdict to Azad Mondol of Baliashisha village under
the upazila.
According to the prosecution, Azad Mondol killed his wife Tuli for dowry
and hanged her body from a mango tree at the village on May 18, 2016.
Following the murder, Tuli’s father filed a case with Mirpur Thana. Police
submitted the chargesheet to the court on October 16 in 2016.
Testifying witnesses and evidences the court passed the order in presence
of convict Azad.
