Drug trader killed in Munshiganj ‘gunfight’
MUNSHIGANJ, May 07, 2019 (BSS)- A suspected drug trader was killed in a
gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Ramsingh area under Sadar
upazila of the district early hours today.
The deceased was identified as Md Sujon Mia, 36, son of Md Mosharraf
Hossain, a resident of Gobindanagar Bastola Rikabibazar area under Sadar
upazila.
RAB-11 police super Enayet Mannan said, the elite force raided in the area
around 2:30am acting on a tip-off when Sujon and his cohorts fired at RAB,
leading to a gunfight.
Later, RAB recovered bullet-hit body of Sujon and sent to Munshiganj
General Hospital, where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
RAB seized a pistol, five rounds of bullets, 1,500 Yaba tablets and Tk
1,500 from the spot, RAB said.
Sujon was accused in 11 drugs related cases.
