Speaker mourns death of additional IGP Rowshan Ara
DHAKA, MAY 6, 2019 (BSS)- Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury today expressed deep shock at the death of additional Inspector
General of Police (IGP) Rowshan Ara Begum, who was killed in a road accident
in Democratic Republic of the Congo.
In a condolence message, she said, “Rowshan Ara was a very skilled and
talented officer. Her death is an irreparable loss for us.”
The speaker prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed
profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
State Minister of Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Deputy Speaker of the
parliament Fazle Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury also
expressed deep shock and prayed for the departed soul in separate messages.
Rowshan Ara, who went to visit the UN peacekeeping mission in DR Congo,
was killed on the spot and three others including Farzana, commander (SP),
BANFPU, were injured in a collision between a civilian lorry and the vehicle
carrying them in capital Kinshasa on Sunday 6.30am local time.
