DHAKA, May 6, 2019 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in London on
an official visit, today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of
additional Inspector General of Police (IGP), Rowshan Ara Begum, in a road
accident in the African country Congo.
In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace of
the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Rowshan Ara, who went to visit the UN peacekeeping mission and attend a Medal Parade of Bangladesh Female Police Unit (BANFPU) in Congo, was killed
on the spot and three others including Farzana, commander (SP), BANFPU, were
injured in a collision between a civilian lorry and the vehicle carrying them
in capital Kinshasa on Sunday 6:30am local time.
