SATKHIRA, May 5, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy distributed relief among the cyclone Fani affected people under Gabura union in Shaymnagar upazila of the district today.
Each family got 10-kilogram (kg) of rice, two-kg pulses, two-kg oil, two-kg sugar, two-kg puffed rice, two-kg fried rice (Chira), two-kg salt and two-liter water and medical assistance as relief.
On the occasion, a simple function was held on the Chadnimukha Union
Parishad (UP) premises this afternoon. Sergeant Lieutenant Asif Hossain,
Lieutenant Rashedur Rahman, Upazila chairman Sheikh Ataul Haque Dolon,
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Sujon Sarker and Mohila vice-chairman Khaleda Doli
were present and distributed the relief items.
Cyclone Fani destroyed around 50 houses of the union that is close to the
Sundarbans.
