BRAHMANBARIA, May 5, 2019 (BSS) – International Nurses Day-2019 was observed in the district today through holding different programmes including rally and discussion.
To mark the day, local administration and district hospital have arranged various programmes to highlight the importance of the day.
A rally led by deputy commissioner Hayat-ud-dola Khan was brought out from the premises of district hospital at 11am this morning which paraded different streets in the town.
Following the rally, a discussion on ‘International Nursing Day’ was held
in Dr Milon Hall of District Hospital. Civil Surgeon Dr Md Shah Alam,
physicians, nurses and officials, among others, addressed the discussion with
supervisor of the hospital Dr Md Shawkat Hossain in the chair.
International Council of Nurses celebrates this day with the memories of
the founder of Modern Nursing, Florence Nightingale. International Nurses Day
is celebrated around the world every May 12, the anniversary of Florence
Nightingale’s birth.
