LOS ANGELES, May 5, 2019 (BSS/AFP) – Maximum Security powered to a wire-to-
wire victory in the 2019 Kentucky Derby on Saturday at Churchill Downs to
remain unbeaten in five career starts.

The colt, whose first stakes race was the Florida Derby on March 30, gave
trainer Jason Servis and jockey Luis Saez their first victories in the race,
the first leg of US flat racing’s Triple Crown.

Servis’s win comes 15 years after his brother, John Servis, won the
Kentucky Derby with Smarty Jones.
