Make future generations aware of true national history: Ranga

RANGPUR, March 27, 2018 (BSS) – State Minister for Local Government, Rural
Development and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga at a function here last
night called for making the future generations aware of the true national
history.

“We have to arrange various functions frequently to inform the young
generations about the true history of our independence to inspire them in
building a ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said.

Ranga made the call while addressing launching ceremony of the six-day
celebrations of the Great Independence and National Day-2018 organised by the
‘Swasswato Bangla Muktijoddha Jadughar (SBMJ)’ at ‘Mukta Mancha’ on its
premises here as the chief guest.

Like previous years, the SBMJ has taken six-day programmes to celebrate
the day under patronization of the Area Headquarters of Rangpur Cantonment
and management of Rangpur Cantonment Public School and College, said a press
release.

The celebrations began through rendering National Anthem by the freedom
fighters, members of the Celebration Committee and thousands of people,
including students, at the colourful inaugural ceremony.

Principal of Rangpur Cantonment Public School and College and Chairman of
the Celebration Committee Colonel Md Nurul Huda delivered welcome speech.

Rangpur Area Commander and General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 66 Infantry
Division Major General Md Masud Razzaque, members of the visiting Indo-
Bangladesh joint cycling expedition, high-ranking military and civil
officials were present.

The chief guest honoured the freedom fighters, the heroes of the soil, by
handing over crests to them on the occasion.

On the inaugural of the 6-day programmes, a cultural evening was arranged
where artistes of different cultural organisations present colourful
performances entertaining hundreds of audience of all ages.

Popular artists of different local social, literary and cultural
organisations will render cultural presentations daily focusing the country,
mother, soil, struggles for independence and War of Liberation before the
young generations during the six-day celebrations.
