11 temporary markets to be set up in city
DHAKA, May 2, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and Dhaka
North City Corporation (DNCC) are going to set up 11 temporary markets for
poor hawkers on holiday ahead of upcoming Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr.
The DSCC and DNCC have made this decision for hawkers so that they can
run their business in a certain places instead of footpaths during the
Ramadan in the capital, an official release said today.
The selected places for the temporary markets under DSCC are: Carpet
goli(Matsya Bhaban to Shilpakala Academy)and Nalar paar(Kataban to Shahbag’s
1st goli) under Ramna thana, the front street of Motijheel Ideal School and
College and Dilkusha road (Bok Chattar to Pubali Bank link road) under
Motijheel thana and Eastern side of Jatrabari Chourasta under Wari thana.
The places under DNCC are : Panir Tanki Math on Salimullah road and
Lalmatia Ground (beside Aarong) under Tejgaon thana, Mirpur-1 to Rainkhola
and Harun-Mollah Eidgah under Mirpur thana, Western vacant place of Jomjom
tower and vacant place adjacent to Kabab factory under Uttara thana.
These markets will remain open on Friday and Saturday only.
