BARGUNA, May 2, 2019 (BSS) – A total of 335 cyclone shelters have been prepared in the district as the super cyclone Fani is moving towards the coastal belts.
Around one and half a lakh people will get shelter in those cyclone shelters. If it is necessary educational institutions will be used as shelter centres, district administration sources said.
A control room has been set up in every upazila of the district to cope Fani. Six medical teams were formed in the six upazilas. Community Radio Lokbetar would broadcast weather bulletin until the threat of Fani passes.
A meeting on the preparation for Fani was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in the morning with Deputy Commissioner Kobir Mahmood in the chair.
Police Super Md Maruf Hossain, Civil Surgeon Dr Humayun Shahin Khan, Additional District Magistrate Jakir Hossain Bachchu, journalist Chitto Ranjon Shil and engineer Dipok Ranjon Das, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Dry food, cash money, rice and corrugated sheets were also allotted for the people who would be affected by the cyclone Fani in the district.

Vacation of all government and non-government officials were canceled in the district, said the Deputy Commissioner Kabir Mahmood.
