3 killed, 20 injured in Rajshahi road accident
RAJSHAHI, May 2, 2019 (BSS)- Three persons including two women were killed
and twenty others injured when a passengers bus plunged into a roadside ditch
in Bagha Upazila in the district this morning.
Quoting witnesses police said the accident occurred at Bhanukar area
adjacent to Meergonj crossing at around 6am.
The deceased were identified as Helper of the bus Abu Hanif, son of
Shamser Ali of Chhatri village and passengers Momwara Begum, 45, wife of
Munsar Ali of Monigram Bandartola village and Badla Begum, 42, wife of Niat
Ali of Harirampur Dartana village, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bagha
Police Station Mohsin Ali.
The bus turned turtle and fell into the roadside ditch when its driver lost
control over the steering as he was trying to overtaking a human hauler
killing three people on the spot and twenty others injured, OC said.
The injured were admitted to different hospitals including Rajshahi Medical
College Hospital, the OC added.
