DHAKA, April 29, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League acting General Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif today said there is no democracy inside BNP as all the activities of the party are being run from London and the MPs-elect from the party now fear to lose their post if they take oath.

“All activities of BNP are being run from London. The party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir did not get green signal from London. That is why he fears to lose his position in party if he takes oath,” he told a joint-meeting with Khulna divisional leaders at the party central office at Bangabandhu Avenue.

The joint meeting was arranged to re-strengthen all units in Khulna division ahead of the 21st national council of the Awami League.

Hanif said though Fakhrul was elected MP in the parliamentary election, he has no responsibility to his voters and the people of his constituency.

He expressed his hope that rest of MPs-elect from BNP will take oath by tomorrow.

AL organizing secretary AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, Abu Sayeed Al Mahmud Swapan, Labour Affairs Secretary Mesbah Uddin Siraj, Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Sujit Roy Nandi, Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplab Barua and Central Working Committee member SM Kamal Hossain attended the meeting, among others.
