Industries secretary for giving more attention to increase productivity

DHAKA, April 29, 2019 (BSS) – Industries Secretary M Abdul Halim today
asked the industry owners to give more attention for increasing the overall
productivity.

“For sustaining in this competitive world, we will have to give more
attention to increase productivity. We will also have to maintain the quality
of products and reduce its production cost,” he said.

The secretary was speaking as the chief guest at a seminar on “Material
Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) in Leather Sector, Bangladesh” at the Bangladesh
Employers’ Federation (BEF) conference room in the city, said a press
release.

Asian Productivity Organisation (APO), National Productivity
Organisation (NPO) and Social Responsibility Asia, Bangladesh jointly
organised the seminar.

Abdul Halim said tannery industry related team of Italy and leather
working group have separately given positive opinion regarding the Central
Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) of Savar Tannery Industrial City.

“The acceptance and export of leather and leather related goods will
increase many times due to establishment of the international standard CETP,”
he added. Country Director of the Social Responsibility Asia Sumaya Rashid
was present at the seminar as the special guest while NPO Director SM
Asrafuzzaman presided over the meeting.
