DHAKA, April 27, 2019 (BSS)- The finals of the 5th National Surfing
competition will be held tomorrow (Sunday) at Laboni Point in the tourist hub
of Cox’s Bazar, said a press release today.
Public Administration Ministry’s Additional Secretary (APD) and Bangladesh
Surfing Association’s general secretary Sheikh Yousuf Harun is expected to be
present in the finals as the chief guest and distribute the prizes.
On the second day of the men’s section matches, Mannan, Younus, Selim and
Shukkur moved to the semifinal from senior men’s event while Sagar, Zia,
Hannan and Zahed advanced to the semifinal from boys’ junior event.
In the women’s section, Rifa, Sumi, Shobe Mahraz and Ayesha confirmed
their last four stage from women’s event.
A total of 65 surfers have qualified for the final round, comprising three
categories – senior, women’s and junior (boys).
The competition is co-sponsored by Bangladesh Cricket Board, Pubali Bank
Limited and Bangladesh Tourism Board.
