GAIBANDHA, April 27, 2019 (BSS) – The construction of a 240-feet wood bridge is underway on the Ghagot river at Uttar Narayanpur Bekatari village under Ballamjhar union of Sadar upazila in the district.
With the initiative of the local people, the bridge is being built on the Ghagot river for smooth movement of people.
Students of the areas used to face problems while going to their respective academic institutions located at the district town.
M. Alamgir Hossain, an entrepreneur, said the locals are building the wooden bridge over the river voluntarily, to remove the sufferings of people.
The estimated cost of the bridge will be Taka one lakh, he said local people are bearing the expenses of making the bridge.
Luma Begum, a female member of the union parishad (UP), said, “It is very essential to construct a brick-built bridge over the river for a permanent solution.”
