BNP should join parliament to meet moral obligation: Hanif

DHAKA, April 26, 2019 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) Acting General Secretary
Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif today said BNP leaders should join parliament to meet
their moral obligation as people of the country elected them in the national
election held in last December.

“BNP leaders who got elected in the last national election, should join the
parliament for showing respect to people’s mandate, if they don’t do so,
people will never vote them again,” Hanif said while addressing a reception
of four women parliamentarians at Bangabandhu Avenue’s central office of AL
here.

“BNP decided not to take oath… They will lose the last chance if they do
not come to parliament within April 30…. So, I am urging the BNP leaders
who were elected to the election of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad to come to the
parliament,” he said.

AL Acting General Secretary criticized BNP Secretary General Mirza
Fakhrul’s recent remarks regarding taking oath by one of his party
colleagues, saying, he does not want to come to the parliament, but he always
talks about democracy.

He said militancy in the country had been created with the patronization
of BNP-Jamaat alliance.

Woman MP’s Fazilatunnesa Indira, Nargis Rahman, Sabnam Shila and Zinnatul
Bakia were given reception at the ceremony.

General Secretary of Dhaka City Awami League Shahe Alam Murad, President of
Central Mohila Awami League Safia Khatun, and General Secretary Mahmuda Begum
Krik addressed the function, while Sabera Begum, President of Dhaka City
Mohila Awami League presided over the event.
