UNYSAB Rangpur divisional wing fresher’s reception held

RANGPUR, April 26, 2019 (BSS) – The sixth Fresher’s Reception-2019 of
Rangpur divisional wing of the United Nations Youth and Students Association
of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) was held here on Thursday afternoon.

Rangpur divisional wing of UNYSAB organised the event with the theme of
‘Leadership through Volunteerism’ followed by a colourful cultural evening at
Rangpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) auditorium in the city.

Around 200 students from different educational institutions of all eight
districts under Rangpur division participated in the colourful programmes.

Assistant Professor of the Department of Accounting and Information
Systems of Begum Rokeya University Umar Farooque and its Assistant Prof of
the Department of Geography and Environmental Science Anwarul Azim attended
the function as invited guests.

Moderated by Rangpur divisional wing Secretary of UNYSAB Ajmira Azmi,
Senior Vice-president of RCCI Mostoba Hossain Ripon and Secretary
(Operations) of the central wing of UNYSAB Mehedi Hasan Shamim addressed the
function.

Terming UNYSAB as a colourful organisation of students and youths, Asst
Prof Umar Farooque said the organisation is the biggest one of its kind to
promote youth leadership through volunteerism in the northern region.

Ajmira Azmi said UNYSAB is an organisation where a volunteer gets
opportunity to become a good organiser, good presenter, enhance own English
skills and acquire qualities to ultimately become a good leader.

“Let us welcome newcomers in the organisation and encourage them to become
good leaders though volunteerism,” she added.

Later, a delightful cultural programme was organised with participation of
artists of the Bioscope Musician Group and members of the UNYSAB.

The artists and UNYSAB members rendered dances, songs and poetry
recitation and staged mime and ramp shows enthralling hundreds of students in
the programme.
