Indictment hearing in 2 cases against Khaleda June 13
DHAKA, April 24, 2019 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today set June 13 to hold
hearing on charge framing in two cases against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda
Zia.
Today was fixed for holding hearing on the matters, but the defence
pleaded to allow them time in the two cases.
Dhaka additional chief metropolitan magistrate Asaduzzaman Noor reset
the date accepting a time plea of Khaleda’s counsel.
Journalist Gazi Zahirul Islam on August 30, 2016, filed a case against
the BNP chief for observing fake birthday on August 15.
Jananetri Parishad president AB Siddiqui filed another defamation case
on November 3, 2016, against Khaleda Zia and her late husband Ziaur Rahman
for stigmatizing War of Liberation by rehabilitating anti- Liberation War
elements.
The BNP chairperson is now in bail in these two cases as Dhaka
metropolitan session judge Imrul Kayes allowed her pleas on July 31, 2018.
