Workshop on Autism Awareness Day held in Joypurhat
JOYPURHAT, April 23, 2019 (BSS) – A workshop on Autism Awareness Day was
held at the Conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in the district town
today.
Acting Civil Surgeon Dr Rashed Mobarok chaired the workshop organaised by
the District Civil Surgeon Office this morning marking the World Autism
Awareness Day.
The World Autism Awareness Day is being observed in Bangladesh as
elsewhere around the world today.
The theme of this year’s Autism Awareness Day is ‘Assistive
Technologies, Active Participation.’ with a pledge to bring the people
suffering from autism and other disabilities into the mainstream of
development.
Dr Moniruzzaman Manik presented the key note paper at the workshop while
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Jakir Hossain, Dr Tulshi Chandra Rao, Dr Shohid
Hossain and Education Officer Choiti Rao, among others, spoke on the
occasion.
The speakers underscored the need for creating awareness of autism
awareness among guardians to bring specially-abled people to the mainstream
of the society.
