Police remain alert to eliminate militancy from country: Home Minister

CUMILLA, APRIL 21, 2019 (BSS) – Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan today
said intelligence agencies are very concerned about security issue and they
are capable to thwart any kind of militant activities and root out extremism
from the country.

“We are shocked over the series bomb blasts in Sri Lanka. We are
determined against acts of militancy and violence,” he said this while
inaugurating the newly-constructed Chandina Police Station as the chief guest
here.

The minister said the present government has the capacity to root out
militancy with iron hand side by side the government declared zero tolerance
policy against drug smuggling and its abuse.

“Our law enforcement agencies are determined to control illegal drugs
and militant activities in the country,” he added, urging all to build
awareness about illegal drugs and militant activities.

Asaduzzaman said the law enforcers have intensified their vigilance
across the country in the wake of militant attacks in Sri Lanka.

The newly constituted Chandina thana began its journey today after a
formal inauguration with a function.

Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Assurance
Professor Ali Ashraf, Deputy Inspector General of Chattagram Range Police
Khandker Golam Faruque and officers concerned were present.
