Rahmatganj stuns Mohammedans in BPL
DHAKA, April 19, 2019 (BSS)-Old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society stunned Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited beating them by 2-1 goals in a match of the Bangladesh Premier League Football held on Friday at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.
In the day’s match, Faisal Mahmud gave Rahmatganj a deserving lead early in the very fourth minute though their lead lasted few minutes as Habibur Rahman Sohag restored the parity for Mohammedan in the 11th minute of the match.
Rahmatganj’s foreign recruit Junapio sealed the victory scoring the second goal in the 74th minute.
With this day’s win, Rahmatganj secured 12 points from 12 matches while Mohammedan Sporting Club remained at their previous credit of six points playing the same number of matches.
Rahmatganj played good football although the proceeding and notched their deserving victory while Mohammedan were totally off-colored on the day.
In the day’s other match, Saif Sporting Club blanked Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chkara by 2-0 goals held at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Stadium in Gopalganj.
After the first half ended ina goalless draw, foreign recruit Denis broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Saif in the 48th minute while Rahim sealed the victory scoring the second goal for Saif in the 52nd minute of the match.
With this victory, Saif Sporting Club improved their tally with 23 points from 12 matches while Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra remained at their previous earning of 15 points from the same number of outings.
