Army emerge champions in Inter Service Athletics meet
DHAKA, April 18, 2019 (BSS)- Bangladesh Army emerged champions in the Inter Service Athletics competition that concluded on Thursday at Bangladesh Army Stadium in the city, said an ISPR press release today.
Bangladesh Army secured 38 medals including 15 gold, 14 silver and nine bronze medals to clinch the title while Bangladesh Navy finished runners-up with 21 medals including six gold, nine silver and six bronze medals.
Besides, Bangladesh Air Force becomes third in the competition with seven medals including one gold and six bronze medals.
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University’s Vice Chancellor Rear Admiral M Khaled Iqbal formally declared the four-day competition off through the prize distribution ceremony.
Bangladesh Army soldier M Shariful Islam won three gold medals in 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay event and later adjudged the best athletes of the competition.
