Bangladesh missions abroad observe Mujibnagar Day

DHAKA, April 17, 2019 (BSS) – The historic Mujibnagar Day was observed in
Bangladesh missions abroad including Islamabad, Copenhagen and Mumbai in a
befitting manner.

Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad observed the historic Mujibnagar
Day in a befitting manner to mark the anniversary of the oath-taking of the
country’s first government during the country’s War of Liberation in 1971.

In the morning, a discussion highlighting the significance of the
Mujibnagar Day was arranged at the high commission premises, according to a
message received here.

At the beginning, messages from the President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina were read out by the senior officials of the High
Commission.

During the discussion, Acting High Commissioner Md Najmul Huda, in his
speech, paid rich tributes to the unparalleled leadership of the Father of
the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Later, a video documentary on Mujibnager Day was screened where officers
and staff-members of the High Commission were present.

Bangladesh Embassy in Denmark started the day-long programme hoisting the
national flag on the embassy premises in Copenhagen.

Later, a special discussion was held at the embassy auditorium marking the
historic Mujibnagar Day where Bangladeshis from different levels and
occupations in Denmark participated, a press release said.

Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Mumbai, India also observed the
historic Mujibnagar Day by organizing similar programmes on its premises,
according to a press release.
