The camp is scheduled to start two weeks after the tournament that is expected to be run by local coaches initially and later could be monitored by foreign coaches as well.

“We are planning to select a squad with the leading performers of the DPL to run an extensive training session,” BCB cricket operation chairman Akram Khan said here today.

”The plan is to groom the potentials for our Bangladesh A team as we have a home series against Afghanistan,” he informed.

”If we see some of them have the potential to represent our A team than certainly we would include them in the A team along with some experienced campaigners as we want to have healthy pipeline for our national team,” he added.

The “A” team is expected to be announced by the national selectors for the upcoming home series against Afghanistan ‘A’ that is comprised with two four-day matches and three one-day games.

“We are preparing the squad and we are putting emphasis on players that are under 30 years but certainly we did not decide to have any age cap as far as selecting the squad is concerned.”
