Uttara crush Brothers in DPL relegation league
DHAKA, April 16, 2019 (BSS)- Shanaj Ahmed hit a century and Moheminul Khan claimed a five-for as Uttara Sporting Club dumped Brothers Union by overwhelming margin of 188 runs in the first match of the relegation league of Dhaka Premier League (DPL) at BSKP-4 ground today.
Shanaj Ahmed struck 106 ball-114, smashing 12 fours and two sixes as Uttara piled up 313-6 in 50 overs leaving Mohimenul Khan to snap up 5-38 figures to skittle Brothers out for 125 in 29.2 overs.
Mohimenul also made 66 with willow to complement Shanaj’s century. Opener Asiful Islam Emon was the other notable scorer with 64.
Bishwanath Halder bagged 3-56 while Mohammad Shahzada picked up 2-45 for Brothers.
In pursuit of big chase, Brothers kept losing wickets at regular interval to concede a defeat by big margin. Zahiduzzaman with 42 runs was the top scorer for the side.
Sajjad Hossain grabbed 3-23 apart from Mohimenul’s five-for 38 runs.
BKSP is the other team in the relegation league. Bottom table two teams will be relegated to the first division after the completion of the league.
