Stern actions will be taken against killers of Nusrat: Shahab
SYLHET, April 12, 2019 (BSS) – Environment, Forests and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin today said stern actions will be taken against the killers of Sonagazi madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi.
“We are deeply shocked at the tragic death of Nusrat…. exemplary punishment has to be ensured for stopping such heinous incident,” he told a function at the Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) marking the founding anniversary of department of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) here, an official release said.
Chairman of Department of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Professor Dr Mosaddeq Ahmed Chowdhury, teachers and students, among others, addressed the function with Vice Chancellor of the university Prof Farid Uddin Ahmad in the chair.
Shahab said the government has taken steps for modernization of jute cultivation, procurement and preservation for regaining lost glory of golden fiber.
Jute is an inevitable part of our culture and heritage, he said adding “Jute plays an important role in our economy and protection of environment.”
“Bangladesh produces the best quality jute in the world….. the jute sector still has enormous economic potentiality,” the minister added.
