RANGPUR, Apr 12, 2019 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested an absconding presumed operative of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahedeen Bangladesh (JMB) from Parbotipur Pirjabad area in Rangpur city on
Thursday night.
“A special operational team of the Militancy Cell of Crime Prevention
Company (CPC) of RAB-13 at its Battalion Headquarters conducted a raid there
and arrested the JMB operative from the spot,” a press release said here
today.
The arrested JMB operative is Md. Abdullah alias Alam alias Alam Gojib,
22, of village Parbotipur Pirjabad in Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali Thana of
the city.
“During interrogation, the arrested man admitted that he had been in
hideouts and involved in taking part in organisational meetings regularly and
collecting tolls for organisational activities,” the release said.
The elite force today handed him over to Taraganj Thana police in Rangpur
where another militancy-related case is remaining pending against him.
