Saifuzzaman for ensuring accountability of land officials

DHAKA, April 11, 2019 (BSS) – Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury today said accountability should be ensured at all levels of the land ministry and all offices under the ministry.

“The government officials are accountable to the respective religious obligations, and the state and the people. If the people can receive proper services, accountability of officials of the Land Ministry will be ensured (at all levels),” he said.

The minister came up with the remarks while addressing the inaugural function of a land service camp at the National Theater of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the city’s Segunbagicha area, said a press release.

Dhaka Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner (DC) offices jointly organized the camp marking the ‘Land Service Week and Land Development Tax Fair-2019’.

“We have to change our mindset. Traditional thoughts will bear no outcome. Qualitative change and system development can ease the tasks,” Saifuzzaman said, adding that as a part of system development, the government has taken initiatives to make the entire land management system an automated one.

Land Secretary (in-charge) Md Muksodur Rahman Patwary addressed the function as the special guest with Dhaka Divisional Commissioner KM Ali Azam in the chair.

Land Reforms Board Chairman Munshi Shahabuddin Ahmed and Land Appeal Board Chairman Md Abdul Hannan also spoke at the function, among others.
