19 illegal structures demolished from Turag banks
DHAKA, April 11, 2019, (BSS) – Bangladesh Inland Water Transport
Authority (BIWTA) today removed 19 illegal establishments from Turag
riverbanks.
The structures included multistoried buildings and four sandal stores.
The team of the BIWTA also recovered 2.5 acres of land from the riverbanks.
Besides, the drive has raised about Taka 402,000 by selling auctioned
products.
BIWTA will carry out more drives to remove illegal establishments from
the riverbanks at the directions of Shipping Ministry.
