Colombian football stars to motivates U-19 women’s soccer team

DHAKA, April 11, 2019 (BSS)- Colombian national women’s football team star Jessica Hurtado now visiting in Dhaka as part of promotional activity for Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup believes that dream can come true and anything is possible.

She also passed this clear message to the women’s football to motivate them ahead of the prestigious tournament.

The former Colombian booter Jessica along with Colombian current national women’s team player Katerin Fabiola Castro Munoz met the pressmen and shared their thoughts in a press conference held on Thursday afternoon at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Bhaban.

The duo, who represented Colombia in FIFA women’s World Cups, arrived in the city on Wednesday afternoon as a part of the promotional activities for Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019.

“I am very happy to be here …. I feel like it’s a family to me……the same place the same area.. When I was invited to come here I thought its good opportunity to come Bangladesh to learn the country’s football, said Jessica replying to a question.”

Jessica Hurtado, who is an ambassador of UAE national women’s team, said she already met the U-19 women’s team and the women’s team is very excited to meet her.

BFF Technical & Strategic Director Paul Thomas Smalley who was present at the press conference, said the women’s team are very excited to get the two Colombian players who was invited as a part of the promotional activities of Bangamata U-19 Gold Cup.

K Sports Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Fahad M A Karim said they are taken number of events to promote the Bangamata U-19 Gold Cup and try to take the country’s women’s football to the next level.

BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag and K Sports CEO Muntasir Bhuiyan were also present in the press conference.

Meanwhile, Jessica and Katerin will celebrate the day-long Women’s Football Day program with the budding booters of six schools tomorrow (Friday) at BFF Academy Fortis ground as a part of their promotional activities for Bangamata Gold Cup.

BFF president Kazi M Salahuddin, BFF women’s wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF general secretary Mahfuza Akter Kiron, U-19 women’s football team and K Sports CEO Fahad MA Karil will present in the Women’s Football Day program.

He two Colombian starts will also take part in the fun football activities with the fifty UNICEF children scheduled to be held on Saturday (April 13) at the BFF artificial turf.
