DHAKA, April 11, 2019 (BSS) – Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun today urged entrepreneurs to set up more industries for achieving the development goals, Vision-2021 and Vision-2041.

“If entrepreneurs, like Walton, come forward to set up industries, Bangladesh will easily become a middle income country by 2021 and a developed country by 2041,” he said while visiting the Walton Hi-Tech factory at Chandra in Gazipur district, said a press release here.

Humayun also said if there were more organizations like Walton, Bangladesh would have been a leader in the world market.

“A large number of people have been employed in Walton. There are all facilities for the workers. Walton is now producing those products which came earlier in Bangladesh from Europe and Japan,” he added.

State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Mojumder was also present on the occasion.

Kamal Mojumder said all assistances will be provided to protect the interest of domestic industries like Walton.

“We will provide supports to expand the local market and export for the products being produced in the country. Taxation on imported goods will be increased, if necessary,” he added.
