Take stern action against Rafi’s murderers: Speaker
DHAKA, April 11, 2019 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury today urged the law enforcement agencies to take stern action
against the murderers of Sonagazi madrasah student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, who was
killed in an arson attack.
In a message of condolence, the Speaker expressed her profound shock and
sorrow at the death of Rafi, who was set on fire on April 6 and succumbed to
her injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital last night.
Dr Chaudhury prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed
profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
In an identical statement, Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah, MP, and
Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, MP also condoled the death of Nusrat Rafi
and demanded exemplary punishment who launched the attack on 18-year old
Nusrat Rafi.
A group of masked youths took Nusrat to the rooftop of the college and set
her on fire in their bid to kill her.
